Hi I’m Cat Cora and we’re gonna have some fun today because one of my favorite things to do is to decorate holiday cookies. And the essential equipments for that is your pastry bag, your tips, your small spatula, your wooden spatula, your icings, sprinkles and of course your cookies.
I’ll start with the pastry bag. This looks hard but it’s not. This is a coupler; I’m placing it in the bag. I’m going to press it all the way down to the tip. Press it in as far as it will go. Now you’re gonna take your tip, cover the outer part of the bag at the tip and you’re gonna take the piece around it, screw it on, make sure you screw it on straight. And the neat thing about these is that you can take these off and you can switch tips and switch your decorative style without changing the bag.
So now I’m gonna show you how to fill a pastry bag. You wanna start with a glass; you want to make sure that you put your pastry bag in, tip side up. Make sure it’s all the way in the glass; take your icing with a spatula.
