Hi my name is Leah Carucci and I am a chef there at Mulberry tree house and that from New Jersey. Today I will be showing you how to make one of our customer favorite desserts the hot sticky toffee pudding. We will start with six ounces of soften butter, nine ounces of brown sugar, five eggs with one egg yolk, twelve ounces of chopped dates, three table spoon of instant coffee mixed with one and a half teaspoon of baking soda, twelve ounces of all purpose flour mixed with two and a one forth of baking powder… Fifteen ounces of boiling water.
The first step is the creaming of the soften butter with the brown sugar. Cream in to light and fluffy on second speed. It will take about two minutes. Now its time to add the eggs.. make sure that you add only one at a time and spread between each one. Now add the flour …make sure to turn your mixture to first speed. Now you combine the chopped dates…. the instant coffee with baking soda and the boiling water. The reason we use boiling water is that it immediately dissolve the brown coffee. Now you combine the dates with the instant coffee, baking soda, and boiling water to the rest of the mixture.
Make sure to add it slow. Mix just thoroughly till it combine. Now its time to pour this delicious mixture in the bowl. I have pre-heated my oven to 375 to finish just place it in the middle rack and bake to 30 to 35 minutes. Use the toothpick method to make sure the pudding is done. Cut the pudding in the desired squares that you like in plate. This is a hot sticky glue. We make it by placing butter in to the pan…melt it, then you place brown sugar, wait until it simmer and then pour the heavy cream. This is going to look so good…. and that is simple and delicious. One of our customer’s favorite. Thank you for visiting Mulberry teahouse. See you for lunch.
