Hello my name is Carrie Wallace from Kiddy Cooks. On behalf of KidsandCooking.co.uk, I’m going to show you how to make Gingernut Biscuits with your children.
First of all you put the flour, the ginger, the bicarbonate of soda and the sugar in a bowl. And then you ask the children to make fine breadcrumbs with the butter when you add the butter into the flour mixture. Then you add the syrup - 1 tablespoon of syrup and it becomes a nice sticky mass you ask your children to stir it around. When all of the flour is incorporated in to the syrup, you divide the mixture into 12 pieces.
Roll it into a ball, the children love doing this. Rolling it into a balls and then put them on a baking tray, flatten down slightly and put them in the oven to bake for about 10 to 15 minutes.
“Ok, rub that in like you did before with your fingers. Rub it through your fingers. Alright.”
“I want to do…”
“That’s alright you can share it can’t you. There you are that’s a piece of butter there. You can do that butter there. Alright, rub it through your fingers.
