That’s right, well done. Squeeze it through, squeeze the butter into the flour. We’re going to put (here, let us wash) - let’s put the syrup in first. Now use your spoon now don’t use your fingers, just your spoon. Alright, just your spoon. Stir it really hard. That’s very good. Well done. Right.

Now look what I will do now - squish it all together with my fingers, okay.”
“OK”
“Like this.”
“Is it going to be squashed?”
“Well no, it just has to stick together. When it gets hot it all sticks together because there is syrup in there. And the syrup makes it all stick together. There we are, nearly done. Okay here we are.”

“Why is sticky, the syrup?”
“Because the syrup is like honey isn’t it? It is very sticky.”
“Why is it in there?”
“Well it’s alright. Now we are going to cut it into 12. Right, so that’s 2. And then we’re going to make it into little balls.”
“I’m wanna - I can do little balls.”

“Yes you can do little balls and then we are going to let it bake in a baking tray. We are going to put it into a baking tray. And we will spread them out. So they don’t all join up together. There you go. Georgia just pop that one just here. Put that one just there, Kitty. That’s it. Well done. See it is getting very sticky now isn’t it Kitty? Very sticky. Brilliant. Now we’re going to put your Gingernut Biscuits in the oven for about 10 minutes and they will be much bigger than that when they come out. You watch.

There you are do you want to try those? They are much bigger than they are, when they went into the oven. Are those good Kitty? Are they nice?”
“Yes”
